In order to search for links that need to be redirected

  1. Navigate to Google.com.

  2. Type site: [the old domain name].

To set up a redirect that links to a valid URL in your EthosCE install post-launch:

  1. Click the URL returned in the Google search.

  2. If the URL redirects you to an EthosCE page with the "Page not found" message click the "Add URL redirect from this page to another location" link.

  3. Add the EthosCE URL to the "To" field.

    1. If the original URL contained a querystring (for example ?id=1234), ensure that the querystring is present in the "From" field. It is not picked up automatically.

  4. Click Save.

OR if the EthosCE sites hasn't launched yet, this can be done without the Google links.

  1. Navigate to the admin menu.

  2. Click Administration.

  3. Click Search and metadata.

  4. Click URL redirects.

  5. Click the Add redirect link.

  6. Add the "path" of the old URL to the From field.

  7. Add the new EthosCE path to the "To" field.

  8. Click Save.

It is also possible to do this from any individual content page, for example a course.

  1. Navigate to the content page.

  2. Click "Edit."

  3. Click "Publishing"

  4. Click "URL redirects"

  5. Click "Add URL redirect to this content"

  6. Add the "path" of the old URL to the From field.

  7. Click "Save"
