To set up a redirect the that links to a valid URL in your EthosCE install post-launch:
- Click the URL returned in the Google search.
- If the URL redirects you to an EthosCE page with the "Page not found" message click the "Add URL redirect from this page to another location" link.
- Add the EthosCE URL to the "To" field.
- If the original URL contained a querystring (for example ?id=1234), ensure that the querystring is present in the "From" field. It is not picked up automatically.
- Click Save.
OR if you haventhe EthosCE sites hasn't launched yet, you this can do this be done without the Google links.
- Navigate to the admin menu.
- Click Administration.
- Click Search and metadata.
- Click URL redirects.
- Click the Add redirect link.
- Add the extension "path" of the old URL to the From field.
- Add the new EthosCE URL path to the "To" field.
- Click Save.
It is also possible to do this from any individual content page, for example a course.
- Navigate to the content page.
- Click "Edit."
- Click "Publishing"
- Click "URL redirects"
- Click "Add URL redirect to this content"
- Add the "path" of the old URL to the From field.
- Click "Save"
