The “Skippable“ checkbox removes the access check on a required course object that prevents learners from moving ahead until the object is complete. This allows learners to "skip" the object and continue past it, even if it is not complete.

"Skippable" objects allow learners to move through course objects in random order while still forcing them to complete all required objects before completing a course.

Important! Credit will be awarded before a course is complete if the learner reaches the credit object. If the learner must complete the skippable object before being awarded credit, a condition-based access control must be set on the credit object.

To make an object skippable:

  1. Navigate to the course

  2. Click "COURSE OUTLINE."

  3. Click "Settings" on the row of the course object you would like to edit.

  4. Click the "Settings" vertical tab.

  5. Check the "Skippable" checkbox.

  6. Click "Update."

  7. Click "Save outline."
